During Spring Break this week, the Monrovia Library, in partnership with Oak Crest Institute of Science, will be holding daily programs on a variety of scientific and engineering fields. We're calling the program series SciLab, and it will return during the summer as well. The funding for this program was provided by an Innovation Station Grant that was awarded to the City (many thanks to our Library staff for their terrific efforts!), and additional support was provided by the City Council, the Library Board, the Monrovia Public Library Foundation, and the Friends of the Monrovia Public Library.
To celebrate the new programs and equipment supported by our Innovation Station Grant, staff has coordinated a small Open House event, scheduled for this Thursday, April 5, 2018, from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. We hope that you will drop by for some yummy treats while you learn more about the new microscopes, geocaching materials, and circuitry kits that the Library is using for our S.T.E.A.M. focused programming this year. At the Open House, we will be featuring the Circuit Club and those in attendance will have the chance to see some of our new equipment in action!
Additional information is included in the event flyer below, and we hope you will join us to learn more about this exciting opportunity to expand and enhance S.T.E.A.M. learning experiences for the entire community!
