The Monrovia Historical Museum is housed in a historic 1925 Spanish-style building that once served as the City's municipal plunge (now referred to as a public pool). It features exhibits on the history of Monrovia, life in the 1900s and Monrovia's contributions in World Wars I and II. The Museum currently has over 10,000 artifacts, many of which are on display!

The Museum also has its very own Research Center! Residents who are interested in the history of their homes can make an appointment to utilize resources, such as computers and knowledgeable volunteers. The Museum also hosts a website, which can be found here, that contains valuable information for preservationists who may be interested in the architecture and early history of Monrovia.

The Monrovia Historical Museum Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation.

Admission

Admission to the museum is free. Donations are gladly accepted.

Hours

Free, docent-led tours are available on Thursdays and Sundays from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m., and by appointment for large groups.
