Library Board Meeting

As a precaution to protect staff, our constituents, and elected officials, in accordance with Government Code Section 54953(e) and guidance from the California and Department of Public Health, Los Angeles County Health Department, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the City Council has made the determination that there will NOT be a physical meeting location and all public participation will be electronic. Remote public participation is encouraged and the public is encouraged to participate in the following ways: 

  • 1-Email.1-Public comment will be accepted by email to tcherry@ci.monrovia.ca.us before 5:00 p.m. on March 24, 2022. Public comment may be summarized in the interest of time, however the full text will be provided to all members of the Board prior to the meeting. If comments are specifically in support of or with concerns to an item, please clearly state so in the introduction.
  • 2-Attend the meeting via Zoom. To provide public comment from your computer, laptop or smartphone, join Meeting ID 865 3663 2637. Please note you will enter the meeting muted. To comment during the public comment portion of the agenda, click the Participant “Raised Hand” icon at the appropriate time indicated by the Board President. You will then be selected to speak. Please limit your comments to three minutes.

Pursuant to Government Code Section 54953(e), Library Boardmembers may participate via teleconference.

 The Library Board acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council in all matters pertaining to library services, cooperating with all government agencies and civic groups in the advancement of sound library planning and programming. The Board is comprised of five Monrovia residents who are appointed by the City Council for a three-year term.

The Board meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Monroe Room of the Community Center at 119 West Palm Avenue.
