In 2004, the City Council adopted the Art in Public Places program. The program requires residential development projects that involve five or more dwelling units and a cost in excess of $1 million, or commercial, office, or other projects costing in excess of $1 million to allocate a fee to be paid to the City or applied to art work in an amount equal to 1% of the project cost. Each application for the installation of an artwork is reviewed initially by the Art in Public Places Committee which makes a recommendation to the City Council.
