The Monrovia Police Department encourages safe driving at all times.
We also promote safe driving through our special programs, such as the "Keep Kids Alive - Drive 25 Program" and "Every 15 Minutes."
Every Fifteen Minutes
This program offers real life experience to high school students on the trauma, heartache, and risks associated with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
KEEP KIDS ALIVE DRIVE 25
This traffic safety program was launched on August 2, 2011. "KEEP KIDS ALIVE DRIVE 25" is a national traffic safety campaign to raise awareness of the residential speed limit. In California the speed limit in residential areas is 25 MPH, unless posted otherwise. The goal of the "KEEP KIDS ALIVE DRIVE 25" organization and the Monrovia Police Department is working together to end injuries and deaths that result from speeding vehicles in our neighborhoods. According to the Federal Highway Administration, the street in front of your home is over twice as dangerous as highways when it comes to number of deaths per miles driven.
Here's How to Participate
Signs and stickers can be picked up for FREE in the lobby at the Monrovia Police Department, 140 E. Lime Avenue, or by calling the Community Policing Office at (626) 256-8020 or (626) 256-8036.
To get a yard sign, all you need to do is sign up by leaving your name and number and let us know you would like a "Keep Kids Alive Dive 25" yard sign.
To learn more, watch the Public Service Announcement on the City's traffic safety programs, which includes the Drive 25 campaign.
