Description

The Monrovia Traffic Signals Project provides for the installation of traffic signal improvements, roadway striping, and traffic signage to enhance pedestrian safety around the intersections of Huntington Drive and Fifth Avenue, Foothill Boulevard and California Avenue, and Foothill Boulevard and North Sunset Avenue.

The City of Monrovia has awarded contract to DBX, Inc. for construction of the traffic signal improvements. Work activities are scheduled to begin October 14, 2024. Impacted residents and businesses will be notified at least 48 hours prior to the start of work in their neighborhood.

Project Objectives

The project is intended to:

  • Improve safety of pedestrians around the project intersections.
  • Provide greater public access with the installation of improved curb ramps and ADA accessible push buttons.
  • Reduce traffic congestion at the Huntington Drive and Fifth Avenue intersection through construction of protected permissive left-turn signals.
  • Reduce traffic congestion at Foothill Boulevard intersections through creation of left-turn pockets.

Project Schedule

The project is scheduled to take place from October 2024 through Spring 2025. Work hours will be from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. No work will take place on weekends or holidays.
