Older Adults ages 50+ can get involved, make friends, learn, and have fun in many ways, including joining a Senior Club, participating in our varied programming, or even joining us on a trip!
Stop by the Monrovia Community Center on Tuesday & Wednesday mornings at 9:00 a.m. to join a Senior Club!
Please contact Lauren Pagliotti at (626) 256-8225 or by email at lpagliotti@monroviaca.gov to register for these free activities. Register will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on the Friday before the program.
Recreation and Library also offer a variety of classes for adults. Sign up today!
The Monrovia Senior Clubs meet weekly at the Community Center and are open to all older adults 50 years and older. Activities include monthly guest speakers, health presentations, entertainment, and lunch.
New Horizons Club
New Horizon Club meets on Tuesdays

Membership dues are $5.00 per year for new members, $5.00 per year to renew membership. Monthly special event lunches are additional and costs vary.

Senior Resources
National Institute on Aging - Information and Aging Resources
AARP - Free at-home exercise videos as well as articles on stress management, healthy living, and more
Partners in Care Foundation – we have partnered with the Partners in Care Foundation to provide social service and wellness programs that address our emerging trends in social service to meet the needs of participants.
Free Online Games – promoted by AARP - Come try your hand at some of the best online games such as Mahjongg, Solitaire, and crossword puzzles!
Senior Lunch Program
The City hosts two separate clubs that meet weekly at the Community Center. The New Horizon Club is offered every Tuesday, and the Gad-A-Bouts Club is every Wednesday. The Senior Lunch Program is provided to active participating club members to ensure they receive a nutritious, warm meal. Lunch is free, but a suggested donation of $2 per meal is requested. Lunch is served approximately at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Please call the Monrovia Community Center at (626) 256-8246 for more information.
Co-Mingle Mondays
Join us every Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for our Senior Social Hours! This is the time to socialize with one another, play bingo, and eat lunch! This free drop-in program is open to all older adults 50 years and older. Lunch is free, but a suggested donation of $2 per meal is requested. Lunch is served approximately at 11:30 a.m. Pre-registration is required if you plan on eating lunch. To register for lunch or more information, please call the Monrovia Community Center at (626) 256-8246.

Lunch & Learn
The Monrovia Community Center’s Lunch & Learn program is FREE for all seniors. Seniors are invited to the Community Center on the second Thursday of each month from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to enjoy lunch and to be informed on a variety of topics. Each program is open to seniors 50 years and older. Reservations are required by registering online or by calling the Monrovia Community Center at (626) 256-8246.

AARP
AARP Refresher Course. This is an update class and you must have taken the 8 hour class within the past 3 years. Reservations can be made in advance at the Monrovia Community Center and payment is by check only to AARP and will be taken on the first day of the class. For reservations, contact the Monrovia Community Center at (626) 256-8246 for additional information. The course is subject to cancellation.

Senior Stretch
The staff invites active adults to join our weekly senior stretching and exercise class. The class includes stretching techniques geared toward seniors over 50, though the class is great for anyone in need of a good routine. Movement increases the range of motion, and relaxation, and decreases the risk of injury. Participants should wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. It is recommended to bring a towel and a bottle of water.

Weekly Walkers Club
The Weekly Walkers Club (formally the Community Walking Club) invites you to join in on the regular series of leisurely walks throughout Old Town. The purpose of the Weekly Walkers Club is to increase activity among adults while enjoying all the sights that Old Town has to offer! The Weekly Walkers will meet every Tuesday and Thursday at the Monrovia Community Center. Walks will be approximately 30 minutes. Please wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. Come out and enjoy some fresh air and good conversation!

Karaoke Days
Join us for a music-filled afternoon of Karaoke, snacks, and fun! This free drop-in program will be held on the 1st Thursday of the month from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Open to adults and seniors!

Novel Destination reservations and ticket purchases must be made in advance. Departures for all excursions are from the Monrovia Community Center, unless otherwise noted. Tanaka Farms - Thursday, October 17
Enjoy the fall season at Tanaka Farms. Pick your pumpkin right out of the patch, enjoy a wagon ride around the farm, make your way through a corn maze, or pick your vegetables at the veggie patch. Up to a 20-pound pumpkin is included in the ticket price. Lunch will be provided off-site at Mimi’s Café. The bus will depart by 9:30 a.m. Please call the Monrovia Community Center for additional information.

Natural History Museum - Thursday, November 14
Join us as we explore the largest natural and historical museum in the western United States, The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. Its collection includes nearly 35 million specimens and artifacts and covers 4.5 billion years of history. Exhibits include the Dinosaur Hall, Becoming Los Angeles, the Age of Mammals, and many more! Lunch will not be provided, but there is a café inside the museum where you can eat. The bus will depart by 9:30 a.m. Please call the Monrovia Community Center for additional information.

Los Angeles Kings Game - Saturday, November 23
Are you ready for heart-pounding action on the ice? Join us as we watch the LA Kings take on the Seattle Kraken with a puck drop at 1 p.m. A meal will not be provided, but there will be plenty of concession stands and eateries within the arena. Please note that bags, backpacks, purses, totes, clear bags, fanny packs, and camera bags are not allowed. Small clutches and wallets smaller than 5” x 9” x 1” are permitted and are subject to security inspection. The bus will depart by 10:30 a.m. Please call the Monrovia Community Center for additional information.
