Community Reminder: Fireworks are Prohibited in Monrovia
The City of Monrovia and the Monrovia Police Department would like to remind residents and visitors alike: Fireworks are not allowed in the City of Monrovia.
The City of Monrovia is looking forward to celebrating the 4th of July with our very own firework show in Library Park. With the hot days of summer upon us, the Monrovia Police Department would like to take this opportunity to remind the public of the ban on all types of fireworks in Monrovia, including the “safe and sane” fireworks. There is good reason for this ban, as fireworks are the primary cause of thousands of fires and injuries throughout the United States each 4th of July. The good news is that these fires and injuries are preventable, if people comply with local laws prohibiting the use of fireworks.
For further reference, please refer to the City of Monrovia local municipal code section 8.24.010 prohibiting fireworks in Monrovia. The fine for violations is up to $500.
