  • Will there be additional ADA parking available?

    ADA parking will be available at Citibank at the north/west corner of Myrtle and Palm Avenues.  Enter the alley way off of Primrose (alley behind the Community Center) heading east and follow signs to disabled parking. ADA parking will be on a first come first serve basis, once this parking lot is full, drivers will be directed to the public parking lots.

  • Where are the restrooms?

    Portable restrooms are available on the north/east corner of Myrtle and Palm Avenues. The Community Center is also open for restroom use.

  • Will there be restaurants open in Old Town Monrovia?

    Old Town Monrovia on Myrtle Avenue is lined with a diverse selection of restaurants and cafes, offering food and refreshments during the event. 
  • Where can I park?

    Parking is completely free and can be found at various lots and structures in the Old Town area

  • What time do the streets close?

    The streets will be closing at 4 p.m. at the following locations:

    • Myrtle Avenue from Foothill to Lemon - The Foothill Park Plaza will remain accessible for parking.
    • Palm Avenue from Myrtle Avenue to Primrose Avenue
    • Lime Avenue from Myrtle Avenue to Primrose Avenue
    • At 8 p.m., Primrose Avenue will be closed from Palm Avenue to Lime Avenue.

  • Can I reserve a spot in the park?

    Spectators may reserve park space no earlier than the morning of July 4. The space reserved can be a maximum of 10 x 10 feet and must be supervised at all times.  

  • What event activities will be taking place?

    There will be a DJ playing recorded music from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by a concert featuring Stone Soul, MOTOWN Band, from 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. The Fireworks Show begins at 9 p.m.   

  • Can I BBQ in the Park?

    No BBQ's are allowed in the park.

  • Can I bring Fireworks?

    All fireworks are prohibited in the City of Monrovia. For additional information, view the City of Monrovia local municipal code section 8.24.010 prohibiting fireworks in Monrovia. 

  • Can I set up a canopy/umbrella?

    Canopies and umbrellas may be set up/used until 6:30 p.m., then they must be taken down.

  • When can I sit in the street? (Myrtle, Palm or Lime Avenue)

    • Spectators can sit in the street after the closures at 4 p.m.
    • There will be no spectator seating on Primrose Avenue, from Palm Avenue to Lime Avenue. 
  • Will the 8 hour, 3 hour & 90 minute public parking spaces be enforced?

    Vehicles parked in 8 hour, 3 hour and 90 minute public parking spaces will not be ticketed on 4th of July.

  • Where are the trash receptacles?

    Please do your part to keep the park clean by disposing of all trash and recyclables in the trashcans located along the sidewalks surrounding the park. There will also be dumpsters located on Myrtle, Palm & Lime to dispose of larger trash items.

  • Can I bring Alcohol to the Event?

    Alcohol is not permitted anywhere in the park or streets surrounding the park.

  • Can I bring food/picnic in the park?

    Yes.

  • Can I bring my dog to the Fireworks Show?

    Bringing dogs to the Fireworks show is not recommended, because the sound of the fireworks can scare the dogs. If you do bring your dog, make sure it is kept on a leash at all times.

  • Spectator Safety during Fireworks Show

    Keep your seats - All street lights will be turned off just prior to the start of the show. To ensure the safety of all spectators, please be seated no later than 8:55 p.m. and remain seated until the show is over and the street lights have been turned on.
