On February 7, 2012, the Hillside Wilderness Preserve Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and Resource Management Plan (RMP) was brought before the Monrovia City Council. The final EIR and RMP is available for review, (see documents listed below). The following information will provide you with the progress of formalizing the access points since the City Council's adoption of the RMP in February 2012:
In 2016, the City opened over 4.5 miles of Hillside Wilderness Preserve trails providing passive recreational opportunities for the Community. There are four access points to the Hillside Wilderness Preserve that are open from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday - Sunday:
- Sleepy Hollow - Located off Norumbega Drive (West of Starlit Lane)
- Ridgeside - Located off Ridgeside Drive, 1/4 mile north of Briarcliff Drive.
- Cloverleaf - Located at the end of Cloverleaf Drive
- Highland - Located at the end of Highland Place
