Did you know that every city in California is required to have a Noise Element in their General Plan? It's true! Because loud or excessive noise is considered a form of environmental pollution, cities have to designate locations that are appropriate for louder noises and set noise standards so as not to negatively affect the lives of residents. The Noise Element can be pretty technical, as it identifies the sources of noise around us and measures the level of noise for each source.
